Tammy Zarb is an Australian born movement director, choreographer and site specific performance maker. She works across many genres in her arts practice and collaborates with dancers, circus performers, acrobats, aerialists, physical theatre, stunt performers as well as visual artists.

She received exceptional ballet and contemporary dance training by artists from the Queensland Ballet and the Royal Ballet Company in her youth, a discipline which she still continues to extensively use throughout her current work. Her professional career includes 20 years of international success and includes stage performances, television, casino and circus productions. 

Tammy continues to work with local Gold Coast artists and is interested in how choreography can create new performance contexts, using space, body and drawing from architecture to create highly experimental pieces that challenge and engage audiences to re-think about live performance in unusual and non stage spaces.

In 2006, Tammy co - founded Orlando Aerial Arts in the United States with aerialist Jennifer Drabik, which provided aerial training to performers working at the surrounding Disney properties. The same year Tammy was selected to be apart of the core aerial team with New York based aerial and circus company AntiGravity Incorporated headed by Christopher Harrison.

Upon returning the the Gold Coast in 2010, Tammy founded ‘Industry Aerial Arts’ and ‘Flyworx Entertainment’ which specialised in contemporary aerial and vertical wall work and has collaborated with local riggers, set designers and engineers.

In 2016, Tammy has a worked on the creative team at Bleached Arts and Bleach* Festival  to create a site specific work called ‘Shifting Sands’ under director Donna Jackson. Other site specific work includes, "The Playground Project’ and ‘Hotelling’ directed by interdisciplinary artist David Pledger from ‘Not Yet It's difficult’. 

Tammy has worked with many well respected mentors such as movement director Gavin Robins (NIDA), projection artist Richard Lindsay (Artists in Motion) In 2017 Tammy assisted on a large scale site work "Watermusic" as part of the "European Culture Festival” in Denmark in 2017 under Kevin Finnan artistic director Motionhouse (UK)

Tammy is a founding director of the curatorial collective 'The Circus Corridor’ supported by the City of Gold Coast through the Accelerate Triennial Fund. Tammy continues to mentor local and emerging artists and recently Co-Wrote and Co-Directed ‘The Rising’ which was presented at ‘Festival 2018’ for the Commonwealth Games, in April 2018. Most recently, Tammy performed in ‘Quiet by Nature’ a site specific work directed by the Gogi Collective commissioned by Bleach Festival.

Tammy has facilitated many creative developments, workshops, master classes and creative labs for Industry Aerial Arts, The Circus Corridor and with Flyworx with International aerial icon Dreya Weber and Stunt Director Keir Beck. As a mentor Tammy’s former students have gone onto careers with “Cirque Du Soleil”, “Cavalia”,“Cirque De La Mer” and “Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines” and have gained entrance into renowned cirque institutes such at “Ecole National de Cirque- Montreal” and “Pendulum Aerial Arts- Oregon”.
